Johnson &Johnson Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism contact lenses continue the tradition of Acuvue Advance that corrects astigmatism (also associated with myopia or hyperopia). The manufacturer recommends switching to Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism lenses without requiring the approval of an ophthalmologist, because all parameters of Acuvue Advance (degrees, curvature, cylinder, shaft) have been maintained.
They are made of Silicone Hydrogel (Senofilcon A), a material that allows a high flow of oxygen to the eye, making it hydrated even after many hours of use. They also use Hydraclear Plus technology. Therefore, they are ideal lenses for those who have astigmatism and experience a feeling of dryness in the eyes with the contact lenses they usually use, especially in difficult environments (in an area with air conditioning or in front of the computer screen).
Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism lenses are designed for their daily use (they must be removed and placed in the special solution at the end of the day).
If used in this way, it should be replaced every 15 days.
However, it is also possible to use them extensively for up to seven days / six nights, without ever removing them.
Before choosing prolonged use, it is very important to consult the ophthalmologist of your trust to evaluate this solution for you.
The pair of lenses used in this way (7days/6nights) cannot be used again.
They are characterized by excellent eye stabilization thanks to Accelerated Stabilisation Design (ASD) technology, which takes advantage of blinking to keep the cylindrical correction in the right place.Each time we blink, we touch a protrusion on the outer side of the lens, the lens rotates in the correct position, and the roller corrects irregularities on the surface of the cornea.
They have a UV filter that blocks 95% of UV-B rays and more than 80% of UV-A rays. They are therefore suitable for people with hypersensitivity to light. Ask for information to the ophthalmologist of your trust.
It should be noted that contact lenses that absorb UV radiation cannot replace sunglasses with a UV filter, because they do not cover the white area of the eye, but only the iris.
They are made with a light blue tint that does not affect vision from the moment you wear them. This shade is needed to make them easier to handle (and easier to find if they fall on you).
